Privacy Policy — Spider Solitaire
Developer: Nightpine Games
1. Introduction
Nightpine Games ("we," "us," or "our") built the Spider Solitaire app as a free app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Spider Solitaire, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@nightpinegames.com.
2. Information We Collect Directly
We do not create user accounts, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information directly.
The app stores the following data only on your device (it is never transmitted to Nightpine Games or any Nightpine Games server):
- Game preferences (e.g., sound and haptic settings)
- High scores, game statistics, and streak records
- Saved game state (so you can resume a game after backgrounding the app)
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by deleting the app from your device.
3. Advertising — Google AdMob
Spider Solitaire is free to play and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information from your device to serve ads, including:
- Device identifiers (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and Identifier for Vendors (IDFV))
- IP address (used to approximate general location, such as city-level, for ad targeting)
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Ad interaction data (e.g., which ads were shown or tapped)
- Coarse diagnostic and performance data related to ad delivery
Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. On iOS 14.5 and later, the app will ask for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using your IDFA for personalized advertising. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your activity in other apps and websites.
Your choices:
- You can reset your IDFA or limit ad tracking at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- You can manage Google's use of your data for ads at Google Ad Settings.
- Google's privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Information about how Google uses data from apps that use its services is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Nightpine Games does not receive, store, or have access to the advertising identifiers or personal data collected by Google AdMob.
4. In-App Purchases
Spider Solitaire offers an optional "Remove Ads" in-app purchase. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Nightpine Games does not collect, see, or store your payment information. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics
Spider Solitaire does not use third-party analytics SDKs. We do not track your behavior across apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.
6. Children's Privacy
Spider Solitaire is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences, but it is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires no account, collects no personal information directly (see Section 2), and any data collection for advertising is performed by Google AdMob as described in Section 3, subject to Google's own policies including its policies for children's privacy.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at support@nightpinegames.com and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Data Retention
- Local game data (preferences, scores, statistics) remains on your device until you delete the app.
- Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's data retention policies.
- Purchase records are retained by Apple according to the Apple Privacy Policy.
8. Data Security
Because Nightpine Games does not operate servers that receive your data and does not collect personal information directly, there is no Nightpine Games database of your information to secure. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data.
- For data stored locally on your device by Spider Solitaire, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app.
- For data collected by Google AdMob, exercise your rights through Google Ad Settings or see the Google Privacy Policy for contact options.
- For purchase data, contact Apple per the Apple Privacy Policy.
- For any other request, contact us at support@nightpinegames.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
10. International Users
Spider Solitaire may be used anywhere the Apple App Store is available. Advertising data collected by Google AdMob may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if we add new features or change advertising providers). When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and publish the updated policy at the URL listed in our App Store listing. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
